Phillip Roy Frye, age 73, of Mount Vernon, passed away August 19, 2020 at his home. He was born September 21, 1946 in Mount Vernon to Elden and Hazel (Workman) Frye.

Phillip was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the Four Square Church. He enjoyed fishing ,hunting, and racing cars. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dixie (Forrest) Frye of Mount Vernon, daughters: Sherry Frye of Mount Vernon, Jennifer Durbin of Mount Vernon, and Tracy Groscost of Mansfield; the six grandchildren: Erica (Ben), Amanda, Tessa, Quenten, Tanner and Miranda; three great grandchildren Maddison, Braden, and Peyton; one sister Jean Baker of Mount Vernon, brothers: Elden Frye of Howard, Thomas (Diana) Frye of Mount Vernon and James Mike (Paula) Frye of Indiana, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Phillis Frye.

The family is having a Celebration of Life Monday at 11:00am at the Salvation Army. The Lasater Funeral Home is handing the funeral arrangements for the Frye family.
