Marie Frances Davis, age 86, of Fredericktown passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Knox Community Hospital. She was born on September 2, 1932 in Rivesville, West Virginia to the late Robert and Mary Coogle. Marie grew up in Cardington, Ohio until her family moved to Fredericktown when she was in Junior High School. This is where she met John H. Davis and they were married in 1951. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves a legacy of a strong and passionate faith in God. Marie was one of the original members of the Fredericktown Church of Christ where she taught children and ladies Bible classes for many years. She began working at the Struble Bank in Fredericktown and retired from Sprint. She is survived by her two grandchildren, Cory Kiser-Davis and Tia Ammon Corie; two great-granddaughters, Gracie Marie and Zoe Rae; her sister Bertha (Ernie) Frazier; a brother Carl (Judith) Coogle; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Davis; her daughter, Lynda Jo Ammon; her brother, Robert Coogle; and her sister, Martha Little. Her desire was to set a Christian example to all she met. During the last two years she lived in Brookdale Community and continued to order Bible study books for her new friends and to tell them about God. She will be missed by all who loved her. Friends may call on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 11AM-1PM at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown. A service will follow, beginning at 1PM, with Mr. Rick Liggin officiating. Burial will take place at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Fredericktown Church of Christ.
