Jack W. Tucker, 87, of Centerburg passed away on Friday morning, Aug. 24, 2018 at the Laurels of Walden Park.
He was born on Nov. 13, 1930 in Centerburg to the late Bert and Olive (Willis) Tucker.
Jack honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He retired from Licking Valley Schools where he taught Math and History and was the Guidance Counselor. Jack was member of the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion. He served on the Centerburg Village Council for many years and was past Head Councilman. Jack was very community minded by serving on the Genealogical Society and the Farming Festival Committee. In his spare time, he enjoyed photography.
Jack is survived by his son, Jason (Wendy) Tucker of Centerburg; grandchildren, Stephanie, Shane, Shayla and Seth; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Braedyn, Scarlett, Sylias, Zayden and Avonlea; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Doyle; and his sister, Eloise.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 27, 2018 at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Rd., Mount Vernon where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018 with Pastor L.J. Harry officiating.
Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Centerburg with Military Honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
