Gilbert E. Fortney, age 86, of Granville, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at his residence.
He was born on July 4, 1936, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Era and Thelma (Bowman) Fortney.
Gilbert was a United States Air Force Veteran and a member of the Bladensburg Church of Christ.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Karen Fortney of Livingston, TX; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Cynthia and Thomas Reaster of Dayton and Vickie and Gary Glover of Newark; sister, Murielene Case of Miamisburg; along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Fortney in 2019, a son Daniel Fortney, daughter, Debbie Lindsey, and a sister, Bonnie Gamble.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 - 12:00 Noon at the Bladensburg Church of Christ with Pastor Ben McKinstry officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Eden Church Cemetery.
The Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel is handling the services for the Fortney family.
