Carolyn S. Harmon

Carolyn S. Harmon, 71, of Mount Vernon passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the Smithville Western Care Center in Wooster. She was born on January 15, 1948 in Mount Vernon to the late James and Esther (Burch) Rutledge.

Carolyn was a retired teacher for the Mount Vernon City Schools where she taught for over 30 years at the Pleasant Street Elementary School. She was a member of the Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon.

Carolyn is survived by her sisters, Rita (Dick) Rasnick of Clover, SC, Sharon Durbin of Kettering and Pamela (Kenneth) Janssen of Orrville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Mashburn.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High St., Mount Vernon. A funeral service celebrating the life of Carolyn will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019 at the Central Christian Church, 17833 Gambier Rd, Mount Vernon. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
