Bruce Hecker, formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectedly in Boca Raton, Florida, on Saturday, October 19, 2019.

Bruce was born April 22, 1945, to Delmer and Nellie (Troyer) Hecker in Berlin, OH. He was a 1963 graduate of Hiland High School, Berlin OH, received his undergraduate degree from Kent State University in 1967 and his MBA from Case Western Reserve University in 1973. Bruce made his career in banking and retired in 2015. During his retirement he enjoyed golfing and trips to see his grandchildren.

He is survived by his two daughters, Julie George (Larry) of Westerville, OH and Kristen Harding (Mark) of Cincinnati, OH; and adored grandchildren, Kendall and Lindsay George and Erin Harding; his brother Mark (Billie) Hecker of Holmesville, OH and sister Diana (Wayne) Youngen Beaber of Sugarcreek, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents Delmer and Nellie Hecker.

Calling hours will be held at Lasater Funeral Home, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd. in Mount Vernon on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 1-3PM with the funeral at 3PM. A light meal will follow after the service.
