MOUNT VERNON – Judge John Thatcher found two guilty after arraignments and hearings were held at the Mount Municipal Court on June 21, 2021.

Eric Mather, 21 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension and Failing to Stop at a Stop Sign. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.

Ronald Bartlebaugh, 72 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Criminal Mischief. The Court sentenced him to pay a $100 fine, serve 60 days in jail, with 55 days suspended, and placed him on one year of probation with the following conditions: complete Anger Management, complete 10 hours of community service, and pay $911.63 in restitution.

Assistant Director of Law Brittany Whitney represented the State of Ohio in these cases.

June 22

Amber Acoff, 34 of Cleveland Heights, was found guilty of Unlicensed Business Solicitation. The Court sentenced her to pay a $25 fine.

Nicholas Porter, 31 of Newark, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension and Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine for the DUS charge and a $35 fine for Speeding.

Cristi Wright, 42 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced her to pay a $200 fine.

Emmanuel Hall, 26 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Criminal Damaging. The Court sentenced him to serve five days in jail and complete 16 hours of community service.

Ryan Smith, 36 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Assault, Aggravated Menacing and Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments. The Court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, concurrently.

Shealyn Stoddard, 36 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While under the Influence of Alcohol. The Court sentenced her to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed her on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended her operator’s license for one year.

Michael Touponce, 61 of Mount Gilead, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine and to serve five days in jail.

Assistant Director of Law Justin Mackin represented the City of Mount Vernon in the Acoff and Wright cases and the State of Ohio in the Porter case. Director of Law Rob Broeren represented the City of Mount Vernon and the State of Ohio in the remaining cases.

June 23

Christian Glover, 27 of Lucas, was found guilty of Improperly Turning at an Intersection. The Court sentenced him to pay a $50.00 fine.

Ashley P. Smith, 29 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign. The Court sentenced her to pay a $35.00 fine.
