MOUNT VERNON – “Sunset in the Park” is an intimate ticketed event in the Schnormeier Event Center at Ariel-Foundation Park on Friday, Aug. 2, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the ongoing development of the wildflower/pollinator garden at the park.

This special event will include appetizers by Lanning’s Foods, beer/wine and entertainment provided by the Knox County Jazz Syndicate. Musicians include Joe Jancura on piano, Ted Buehrer on trumpet, Jim Frady on trombone, Andrew Clarkson on bass, Chris Miller on drums and Alison Cline on vocals.

“Sunset in the Park promises to be a very enjoyable way to support the park. Efforts to develop and improve the park are ongoing to we are very grateful for donations and support of fundraisers like this,” said Melanie Bolender, development coordinator for the Park.

“Our summer concert series is offered free to the public thanks to many generous sponsors. This concert will be more low-key and intimate, with a portion of each ticket sale benefiting the wildflower garden project. Please join us for a lovely summer evening!”

Tickets are $20/person for adults 21 and over and $10 for those 20 and under. Table sponsorships are available for $200; sponsors will be recognized in the event program and throughout the evening.
