Prospect man killed in deer-motorcycle crash

Troopers from the Marion Post are investigating the incident that occurred on May 9 at approximately 9:20 p.m., on Prospect Upper Sandusky Road in Marion County.

The crash involved a 2006 Harley Davidson FLHX, driven by Lyman. The preliminary investigation indicates Lyman was traveling southeast on Prospect Upper Sandusky Road when a deer entered the roadway. He struck the deer, causing the Harley Davidson to overturn.

Lyman was ejected and landed in the roadway. The Harley Davidson traveled off the right side of the roadway, and struck an embankment before coming to rest.

Lyman was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Pleasant Township Fire and EMS, Marion Township EMS, Green Camp Fire and EMS, and Ed’s 24 hour Towing and Recovery.

The crash remains under investigation.
