MOUNT VERNON – Mount Vernon Municipal Court Judge John Thatcher found these 20 individuals guilty after arraignments and hearings this week in his courtroom.

The cases were heard Aug. 19 through 21.

Aug. 21

Jeremy Hayes, 30, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Having an Open Container of Alcohol in a Prohibited Public Place. The Court sentenced him to pay a $35 fine.

Assistant Director of Law Brittany Whitney represented the City of Mount in this case.

Aug. 20

James Ervin, 52, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Failing to Confine his Dog. The Court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine.

Timothy Gulick, 35, of Broadview Heights, Ohio, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct/Persisting. The Court sentenced him to pay a $150.

Dillon Ragor, 28, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Failing to Keep an Assured Clear Distance Ahead. The Court sentenced him to pay $35 fine.

Margaret Burge, 45, of Mansfield, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced her to pay a $250 fine.

Darryl Smelser, 56, of Sunbury, was found guilty of Failing to Display a Valid License Registration. The Court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine.

Tara Ellis, 46, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension and Having an Inoperative Tail Light. The Court sentenced her to pay a $300 fine for the DUS charge and a $25 for the Inoperative Tail Light charge.

Priscilla Spitzer, 41, of Columbus, was found guilty of Failure to Control/Weaving. The Court sentenced her to pay a $150 fine.

Michael Snyder, 44, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.

Dewayne Hughes, 46, of Chillicothe, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension and Failing to Signal when Changing Lanes. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine for the DUS charge and a $25 fine for Failing to Signal when Changing Lanes.

Tambra Alexander-Wade, 57, of Powell, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced her to pay a $125 fine.

Chaz Fisher, 21, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle while Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or a Drug of Abuse. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Cory Edwards, 32, of Martinsburg, was found guilty of Criminal Trespassing. The Court sentenced him to serve 12 days in jail, with credit for time served.

Jason Stevens, 40, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Criminal Trespassing. The Court sentenced him to serve 10 days in jail, with credit for time served.

Kalob Hines, 22, of Warsaw, was found guilty of Improper Handling of Firearms in a Vehicle. The Court sentenced him to serve 30 days in jail, with 25 days suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following condition complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days.

Mark Parker, 30, of Centerburg, was found guilty of Aggravated Menacing, Driving Under an FRA Suspension, and Not Wearing a Seatbelt. The Court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on two years of probation for the Aggravated Menacing charge, to pay a $300 fine for the DUS charge, and a $30 fine for Not Wearing a Seatbelt.

Jeffrey Sherbahn, 63, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Voyeurism and Disorderly Conduct/Persisting. The Court sentenced him to serve 60 days in jail, with 45 days suspended, and placed him on two years of probation concurrently for these charges.

Director of Law Rob Broeren represented the City of Mount Vernon and the State of Ohio in these cases.

Aug. 19 

Judge John Thatcher found three guilty after hearings were held at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on August 19, 2019.

Caleb Allen, 24, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Menacing. He will be sentenced on Aug. 26.

Trevor Stose, 43, of Marion, was found guilty of Telecommunications Harassment. The Court sentenced him to pay a $150 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, and placed him on two years of probation.

Timothy Galbraith, 47, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Not Wearing a Seatbelt. The Court sentenced him to pay a $30 fine.
