MOUNT VERNON – Mount Vernon Municipal Court Judge John Thatcher found 11 people guilty after arraignments and hearings were held at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on March 23 and 24.

MARCH 24

Daniel Whitaker, 23, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Criminal Trespassing. The Court sentenced him to serve 30 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on one year of probation.

Zachary Jimenez, 20, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension and having Inoperative Tail Lights. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine for the DUS charge and a $15 fine for having Inoperative Tail Lights.

Whitley Piatt, 27, of Howard, was found guilty of Failing to Use Reasonable Control. The Court sentenced her to pay a $35 fine.

Donald Kennedy, 26, of Howard, was found guilty of Theft. The Court sentenced him to serve 30 days in jail and to pay $19.48 in restitution to Bullock’s 5-Point Drive Thru.

Gregory Davis, 55, of Walhonding, was found guilty of Failing to Stop After an Accident. The Court sentenced is to serve 10 days in jail and suspended his operator’s license for 180 days.

Steven Dupuy, 21, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or a drug of Abuse. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Marie Deremer, 26, of Howard, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct with Persisting Behavior. The Court sentenced her to serve 30 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed her on two years of probation.

Caleb Kriner, 23, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $100 fine and serve three days in jail.

Avery Smith, 26, of Columbus, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension and Operating a Vehicle with Fictitious Plates. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine for the DUS charge and a $50 fine for the Fictitious Plates charge.

John Smith, 31, of Warsaw, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The Court sentenced him to serve 30 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on one year of probation with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days.

Director of Law Rob Broeren represented the City of Mount Vernon and the State of Ohio in these cases.

MARCH 23

Joshua Bias, 42, of Centerburg, was found guilty of Driving Under an OVI Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine and serve five days in jail.
