Mount Vernon Municipal Court Judge John Thatcher 

MOUNT VERNON -- Judge John Thatcher found 16 people guilty after arraignments and hearings in Mount Vernon Municipal Court this week.

-- Jotham Allwein, 29 of Columbus, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $35 fine.

-- Timothy Casey, 32 of Wooster, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $35 fine.

-- Ryan Bowen, 24 of Thornville, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $125 fine.

-- Gary Willits, 45 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Speeding in a School Zone. The Court sentenced him to pay a $50 fine.

-- Robert Detar, 57 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Changing Lanes Without Signaling. The Court sentenced him to pay a $35 fine.

-- Dakotah Lynn, 25 of Prospect, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.

-- Leo Bailey, 49 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Domestic Violence and Aggravated Menacing. The Court sentenced him to pay a $100 fine, serve 30 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following condition: complete the Court’s Hands Down program for the Domestic Violence charge and to pay a $100 fine and serve 180 days, with all time suspended for the Aggravated Menacing charge.

-- Lee Ehrike, 40 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s licenses for one year.

-- Terry Barker, 39 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following conditions: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program and complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days, and suspended his operator’s licenses for one year.

-- Timothy Derodes, 60 of West Salem, was found guilty of Failing to File and Pay Sales Tax. He will be sentenced on December 10, 2019.

-- Kristi Steele, 30 of Centerburg, was found guilty of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana Drug Paraphernalia. The Court sentenced her to pay a $150 fine. 

-- Ryan Miller, 20 of Shreve, was found guilty of Underage Possession of Alcohol. The Court sentenced him to pay a $300 fine and to serve three days in jail. 

-- Timothy Young, 30 of Elyria, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days, with 174 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following conditions: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program and complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days, and suspended his operator’s license for one year. 

-- Marion Carpenter, 45 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Theft. The Court sentenced her to serve 180 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed her on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete 20 hours of community service and complete the Court’s Social Responsibility Clinic. 

-- Clifton Smith, 51 of Centerburg, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days, with 177 days suspended, and placed him on two years of community control with the following conditions: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program and complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days.
