MOUNT VERNON -- The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Knox County. All outlined work is weather permitting.
State Route 3 closure for culvert replacement - SR 3 is scheduled to close at the northern intersection of Pigeon Roost Road for a culvert replacement beginning Monday, March 29. Estimated completion is Wednesday, March 31.
Detour: SR 3 NB to SR 768 SB to US 36 EB to US 62 EB to SR 205 NB and reverse.
Mt. Vernon Avenue bridge replacement: Project includes bridge replacement of Mt. Vernon Ave. bridge between Cougar Drive and Lower Gambier Road. Completion date is Spring 2021.
New impacts: Mt. Vernon Avenue work is shutdown for the winter and the road is open to traffic in both directions.
