MOUNT VERNON - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Knox County. All outlined work is weather permitting.

U.S. Route 36 closure in Howard for culvert replacement

U.S. 36 is scheduled to close on Monday, June 14, at the intersection of Mary Street for a culvert replacement. Estimated completion is Friday, June 18. Detour: U.S. 36 to SR 308 to SR 229 to US 62 to U.S. 36 and reverse.

State Route 13 road widening and related work

This project includes roadway widening and other upgrades on SR 13 between James Street and Franklin Street. Estimated project completion is Nov. 30, 2021.

New impacts: Motorists can expect daily flagged lane closures. Closure and detour anticipated for July 2021.

State Route 3 daily lane restrictions for resurfacing

Beginning Monday, April 12, motorists can expect daily lane restrictions with flaggers for resurfacing on SR 3 between the Ashland County line and Mt. Vernon. Estimated project completion is Oct. 15, 2021.

Mt. Vernon Avenue bridge replacement

Project includes bridge replacement of Mt. Vernon Ave. bridge between Cougar Drive and Lower Gambier Road. Completion date is Spring 2021.
