MOUNT VERNON -- The Mount Vernon Fire Department will be conducting annual hydrant flushing in the Northern half of the City during the month of September, according to Fire Chief Chad Christopher.
The flushing is scheduled to begin around 8 a.m. and will conclude by 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Please refrain from using your washing machine to launder your clothing during the above mentioned times. Sudden drops in water pressure may be noted, but should correct themselves after a few short minutes.
If you experience very low pressure or are temporarily without water, please call the Mount Vernon Water Office at 393-9504 immediately.
For the complete schedule of dates and locations of the flushing activity, visit the Mount Vernon Fire Department website at http://mountvernonohio.org/mvfd/ and navigate to the “2019 Fire Hydrant Flushing Schedule” within the “Links” tab.
"We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause," Christopher said.
