Crash Reports

March 31

  • Desiree M. Ragor was backing from 102 Monroe St. onto the roadway and struck a vehicle owned by Columbia Gas, which was parked on Monroe St. facing west. No injuries were reported. Ragor was cited with starting and backing vehicles.
  • Joshua C. Hotz and Megumi Shimosaka were traveling north on Vernonview Dr. Shimosaka braked to make a left-hand turn and Hotz struck her in the rear end. Hotz was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Incident Reports

March 31

  • An officer was monitoring the area around E. High and Clinton streets and observed a known individual with known warrants, walking along the sidewalk. Nothing further at this time.
  • An officer responded to the lobby of the MVPD in reference to a vandalism.
  • An officer was patrolling Sychar Rd. near Coshocton Ave. He noticed a male slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle and proceeded to check on him.
  • An officer received a phone call about two stolen bicycles.

April 2

  • An officer was dispatched to W. High St. on found property. Upon arrival a bag containing a white crystalline powder was located and taken to be destroyed. A report was taken.
  • A female who lives on Quarry St. reported a theft that occurred in March. There are no suspects at this time. A report was filed.
  • Two officers responded to N. McKenzie St. on a report a female was struck by a male. Jesse Colt Nyhart was charged with domestic violence and assault. He was transported to Knox County Jail.

April 3

  • A complainant called the MVPD and reported her money was stolen sometime whale shopping. The officer contacted the store security who reported they found the money order. The victim was advised to go to the store to pick up the money. Nothing further to report.
