July 24

  • A Kenyon stated his bicycle was stolen off the bike rack near his dorm. He stated his lock was cut off between July 23 at 7:00 PM and July 24 at 9:20 PM.
  • Arcus Oosting was traveling on Cassell Rd. and struck a deer.

July 25

  • Deputies were dispatched to Roosevelt Ave. on a possible suspicious vehicle that had been sitting in the roadway for approximately 20 minutes. When deputies arrived they found a male individual sitting in the vehicle passed out with a strong odor of alcohol. There were several empty alcoholic beverage cans inside the vehicle. Deputies attempted to have the individual perform standard sobriety tests but he was unable to perform them. The individual, Justin Allen Shaw, was arrested and charged with OVI.

July 26

  • Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Columbus Rd. for a possible domestic violence incident. The complainant had called in stating her live-in boyfriend, Shawn Patrick Davern, had kicked her off the porch rendering her unconscious and causing several bruises and scratches. Davern fled the scene on foot but was eventually apprehended and transported to Knox County Jail. Davern was charged with domestic violence and assault.
