Dec. 4

  • The complainant reported his 2006 Buick Rainier was stolen from his residence sometime between Dec. 3 and Dec. 4, 2020. A report was taken on the complainant’s behalf and the vehicle was entered into the Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS) as stolen.

Dec. 5

  • Deputies responded to a residence for a welfare check on an elderly male who has mental health problems. The male’s family had been unable to contact him. Deputies attempted to make contact with the male but were unsuccessful. They made a forced entry into the residence and the male was located. A report was made for documentation.
  • Owen M. Schlabach was traveling south on Danville-Jelloway Rd. crossed the center line and drove off the left side of the road. Schlabach then crossed over a culvert and struck an embankment. He was cited for failure to control.

Dec. 6

  • Deputies located a runaway juvenile after someone reported her at their residence in Mount Liberty. The juvenile was on probation with the Coshocton County Juvenile Court so her probation officer was contacted. The juvenile was arrested for a probation violation and transported to the Muskingum Juvenile Correction Center.
  • A deputy was dispatched to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office lobby to make contact with an individual claiming to be suicidal. Upon arriving, the deputy determined the individual needed to be transported to Knox Community Hospital for medical treatment and to speak to a behavioral health representative. Mount Vernon EMS arrived on-scene and transported the individual to the hospital without incident.

Dec. 7

  • Deputies were dispatched to the area of Sycamore Rd. and Rangeline Rd. for a vehicle crash. The vehicle had left the scene prior to deputies arriving. The vehicle was located, disabled, in the area and contact was made with the vehicle operator, who was cited for OVI and failure to control.
