  • The complainant reported she was driving her vehicle when she experienced a fire or flame in the dashboard. She stated she pulled off the road at the Irish Hills Golf Club parking lot and exited the vehicle. The vehicle soon became fully engulfed in flames and the Mount Vernon Fire Department was called. The fire department's investigation acknowledged the car fire was not a case of arson. Nother further to report.

Jan. 10

  • Deputies were dispatched to Ankneytown Rd. near Mishy Rd. The complainant advised a male individual wearing a grey long-sleeved shirt came to his door and asked him for a ride. The caller advised the individual was walking west on Ankneytown Rd. Deputies made contact with the individual on Ankeneytown Rd. in Fredericktown. The individual eventually stated he had wrecked his truck and he was under the influence of alcohol. The individual, James A. Monroe, Jr. was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and taken to Knox Community Hospital to be medically cleared before being transported to the Knox County Jail. Monroe gave a breath and a urine sample. He was then released to jail staff and given a summons in lieu of arrest for underage consumption and a citation for failure to control. Monroe's vehicle was located and towed from the scene.
