MOUNT VERNON -- Two men were arrested Tuesday night on drug charges after a joint operation was executed by multiple law enforcement agencies in Mount Vernon.
According to a press release from Knox County Sheriff David Shaffer, 33-year-old Joseph Gibson was arrested on warrants for aggravated possession of drugs and revocation of community control. Also, 30-year-old Shade A. Knox was arrested on a warrant for failure to comply with pre-trial release conditions relating to felony drug charges.
The Sheriff's report stated that on Tuesday Feb. 11, at approximately 8:10 p.m. deputies from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Unit, with assistance from the Mount Vernon Police Department’s Emergency Services Unit executed a search warrant at 107 ½ Columbus Rd. Mount Vernon.
The search warrant was part of an ongoing drug investigation.
As part of the investigation, two people with active felony warrants were located a short time later at 608 W. Vine St. in Mount Vernon, leading to the arrests of Gibson and Knox.
The investigation is continuing.
