MOUNT VERNON -- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded $2,842,060 to the Knox County Regional Airport for improvements and rehabilitation of the airport’s runway, according to a Wednesday press release from Congressman Bob Gibbs.
“As Ohio’s economy grows and expansion continues into Central Ohio’s rural communities, easy access to assets such as airports makes those communities more attractive to prospective businesses," Gibbs said. "Knox County Regional Airport’s runway was in need of major rehabilitation in order to remain competitive for economic development opportunities.
"I applaud the FAA in recognizing the value the airport adds to Knox County.”
Gibbs wrote a letter of support to the FAA on behalf of the Knox County Regional Airport, which can be viewed here.
