Mount Vernon Municipal Court Judge John Thatcher 

MOUNT VERNON – Mount Vernon Municipal Court Judge John Thatcher found 15 people guilty after arraignments and hearings were held this week in his courtroom.

Feb. 4

Kimberly Wolfe, 37, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Having an Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. The Court sentenced her to pay a $25 fine.

Travis Mackie, 22, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle without a Valid Operator’s License. The Court sentenced her to pay a $50 fine.

Kamryn Hagley, 18, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced her to pay a $35 fine.

Brandon Welch, 21, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle without a Valid Operator’s License. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.

Aaron Brown, 30, of Marion, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $100 fine.

Daryl Judd, 49, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Criminal Mischief. The Court sentenced him to serve 60 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following condition: complete the Court’s Hands Down Program.

Timothy Allen, 55, of Centerburg, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol. The Court sentenced him to pay a $700 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 160 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days, suspended his operator’s license for two years, and ordered that the car he was driving at the time of the incident be immobilized for 90 days.

Carson Ruoff, 21, of Howard, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Rodney Roach, 56, of Newark, was found guilty of Criminal Trespassing and Menacing. The Court sentenced him to pay a $100 fine, serve 30 days in jail, with 23 days suspended, and placed him on one year of probation with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days for both charges.

Cody Brinkerhoff, 24, of Loudonville, was found guilty of Public Indecency. He will be sentenced on March 17, 2020 following a pre-sentence investigation.

Charles Carver, 26, of Mount Gilead, was found guilty Menacing by Stalking, Criminal Mischief, Theft, and Failing to Stop After an Accident. He will be sentenced on March 24, 2020 following a pre-sentence investigation.

Director of Law Rob Broeren represented the City of Mount Vernon and the State of Ohio in these cases.

Feb. 3

Jake Cullen, 28, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.

Kyle Walker, 24, of Mount Gilead, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension and Failing to Use Headlights. The Court sentenced him to pay a $100 fine and serve three days in jail.

Wesley Crum, 50, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Criminal Mischief. The Court sentenced him to pay a $100 fine, serve 60 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on one year of probation with the following condition: complete an Anger Management program.

Cindy Clodfelter, 59, of Buffalo, Ohio, was found guilty of Illegally Harvesting Ginseng. She will be sentenced on Feb. 24.
