Mount Vernon Municipal Court Judge John Thatcher 

MOUNT VERNON -- There were 14 people found guilty and sentenced this week after after arraignments and hearings brought before Mount Municipal Court Judge John Thatcher.

These were the cases presented by the Mount Vernon Law Director's Office.

NOV. 24

Joni Busenburg, 38, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Left of Center and Driving While Distracted. The Court sentenced her to pay a $125 fine.

Timothy Brown, 54, of Mount Liberty, was found guilty of Driving Under an FTA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $100 fine.

Frederick Murphy, 31, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Without a Valid License. The Court sentenced him to pay a $100 fine.

Ian Keller, 29, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Assured Clear Distance Ahead. The Court sentenced him to pay a $50 fine.

Peter Negron, 37, of Howard, was found guilty of Failure to Use Reasonable Control and Operating an Unsafe Vehicle. The Court sentenced him to pay a $50 fine on the Failure to Use Reasonable and $15 on the Operating an Unsafe Vehicle.

Assistant Law Director, Brittany Whitney represented the City of Mount Vernon and the State of Ohio in the above cases.

NOV. 23

Robert Clark, 60, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.

Heather Mele, 31, of Gambier, was found guilty of two charges of Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced her to pay a $200 fine on the first DUS charge and a $250 fine on the second charge.

Austin Moreland, 18, of Centerburg, was found guilty of Criminal Mischief. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.

Joshua Galbraith, 27, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possessing Marijuana Drug Paraphernalia and having an Open Container in a Motor Vehicle. The Court sentenced him to pay a $75 fine on the Drug Paraphernalia charge and a $25 fine on the Open Container charge.

Jared Baldwin, 28, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to serve 10 days in jail; and complete 12 hours of community service.

Mackenzie Adrean, 18, of Westerville, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced her to pay a $35 fine.

NOV. 22

Brandon Wolfe, 43, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Violating a Protection Order. He will be sentenced on Jan. 3, 2022 following a Presentence Investigation.

James Wasiluk, 60, of Howard, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 174 suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following conditions: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program.

Jasmine-Moriah Bodeker, 29, of New Concord, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle without a Seatbelt. The Court sentenced her to pay a $30 fine.
