MOUNT VERNON — Twenty-eight athletes from Knox County Special Olympics participated in the 2023 Special Olympics Ohio Northwest Region Spring Regionals in Findlay on April 30. They were joined by almost 800 athletes from 30 programs competing in athletics (track and field), bocce, volleyball, and powerlifting.

Knox County Special Olympics Athletes competed in the 50-meter dash, 100-meter dash, 4×100 relay, 25-meter walk, 100-meter walk, running long jump, softball throw, and mini javelin throw.

Knox County athletes received medals for placing first through third and ribbons for placing fourth through eighth in their event division.

In June, Knox County Athletes will compete at the summer state games in Columbus.
