Knox County Animal Shelter closed Thursday morning

MOUNT VERNON -- Saturday, Aug. 17 is "Clear the Shelters" day nationwide and the Knox County Animal Shelter is participating.

Dogs of Knox Fund, We Lov Pets, Round Hill Dairy, and vet tech Beth Trivett will be onsite at the Knox County Animal Shelter, 285 Columbus Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio, on Saturday, Aug. 17, offering products and services to help local shelter dogs.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., We Lov Pets will be handing out goodie bags to anyone who adopts that day, and Dogs of Knox Fund will have dog-related raffle baskets and items available. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Round Hill Dairy will be scooping locally made ice cream for donations, and from noon to 3 p.m., local vet tech and shelter volunteer Beth Trivett will offer $5 donation nail trims, per pet, for your current or newly adopted pets.

If bringing pets, please leash or crate accordingly. Half Baked Café & Catering is donating locally made dog treats available for donation from 10 a.m. until gone. All donations made will go to the Dogs of Knox Fund. Cash, check, or card accepted.

Dogs of Knox Fund is a 501c3 organization that provides additional and extra-ordinary medical care, food, and other supplies and services to dogs at the Knox County Animal Shelter.
