MOUNT VERNON – The Knox County Fair is back with a full slate of Junior and Senior Fair events this summer. It will run from Sunday, July 25 to Saturday, July 31.
Here’s what each day will entail:
Sunday, July 25
8 a.m. — Gates open
8 a.m. — Worship service (Multi-Purpose Building)
9 a.m. — Junior Fair market rabbit show, followed by Junior Fair rabbit showmanship (Small Animal Arena)
9 a.m. — 4-H vegetable judging and flower specimen (Flower Building)
10 a.m. — Equine dressage show (Horse Show Arena)
10 a.m. to 8 p.m. — DinoRoar! Roaming Dinosaur Show (Kiddie Land)
11 a.m. — Junior Fair King & Queen crowning (Midway Stage)
12 p.m. to 9 p.m. — Ag Museum open
2 p.m. — Draft horse showmanship (Draft Show Arena)
2 p.m. — 28th and 29th Annual Little Miss Knox County (Midway Stage)

Admission will cost $7 each day. Those age 8 and younger will get in free.
Rides this year will be provided by Bates Brothers Amusements Company, out of Wintersville, Ohio. They will be open from 2 p.m. 10 p.m. Monday through Wednesday; 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday; 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday; and 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. It will cost $12 Monday for an all-day wristband; all other days, it will cost $17.
Junior Fair livestock exhibitors will move their equipment in Thursday, July 22. They will move their animals in Friday, July 23 and Saturday, July 24. Vet checks and weigh-ins will take place on these days.
The 4-H equine introduction and crowning will take place July 24 at 6 p.m., and harness racing will also occur on the grandstand track that night.
