GAMBIER — Kenyon College Department of Dance and Office for Community Partnerships in conjunction with My Bee Supply Company and the Public Library of Mount Vernon & Knox County announce two special apiary events for families and kids of all ages.

Be prepared to get your waggle on and learn about how bees use dance to communicate. It's going to BEE awesome!

On Saturday, Oct. 16, Beekeeper Sarah from My Bee Supply will present a demo on beekeeping in the Library's Outdoor Annex from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Cider and snacks provided.

On Sunday, Oct. 24, at 1 to 1:30 p.m. and 2 to 2:30 p.m., choreographer and beekeeper Julie Brodie's dance team will present two performances of "Apis Ballare" a fun, interactive dance-along ballet, at Riverview Park, located at 400 S. Main Street, Mount Vernon, 43050 (across from the Wright Center).

"The goal of this program is to engage the community with environmental issues through art and science," says Brodie, who is already planning future collaborations with Kenyon colleagues focused on ecological education outreach.
