Mount Vernon Christmas Parade, 2017

MOUNT VERNON -- Santa and Mrs. Clause will return to the streets of downtown Mount Vernon this Saturday, Nov. 27 at 3:30 p.m.

Main Street Mount Vernon and sponsor Park National Bank are pleased to announce the parade theme for this year is "Gingerbread Forest."

Helping to kick off the first ever downtown Mount Vernon Gingerbread Forest sponsored by Knox Community Hospital, the parade check-in and staging area will be located in The Living Center parking lot at 201 North Main Street, and will run from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Staging will occur between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. and will shut down Sugar Street from Gay to Mulberry Street, and North Main Street between Sugar and Hamtramck.

Parade route

The parade route for this year will start at Sugar Street, run down North Main and around the west side of Public Square. The route will pass by the main stage located on the West side of the square and continue down South Main Street to Howard Street where the parade will end.

Santa will travel the parade route in Santa’s Sleigh sponsored by Riverside Recovery Services, and then return to Public Square immediately following the parade for the Lighting of Public Square sponsored by Mount Vernon News.
