MOUNT VERNON — Whatever the ultimate fate of the Pirates Cove restaurant might be, as of now it is closed.
The restaurant’s Facebook page states it is temporarily closed. The phone number is not in service.
A Facebook post from the first week in August attributes the restaurant’s closure to not surviving COVID-19. Attempts to reach owner Tom Corrigan for information were unsuccessful.
Will and Marilyn Corrigan founded Pirates Cove in 1978 in Gambier. Under the ownership of their son, Tom, the restaurant moved to Coshocton Avenue in Mount Vernon in 2010. Outgrowing the Coshocton Avenue site, Pirates Cove moved into its current location at 108 Mount Vernon Ave. in May 2018.
