MOUNT VERNON — Family Urgent Care heeded the call when the company heard there was a need for another urgent care clinic in Mount Vernon.
The clinic officially opened its doors on May 1 and held a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday afternoon.
“We found out there was a need here because the other urgent care was very busy,” said Dr. Syed Naqvi. “It’s just to help people out.”
The clinic will be led by Naqvi and his staff of eight, including nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and receptionists. “They are well-trained,” Naqvi said of his staff. “They’ve worked in the other clinics so they know how to take care of the problem.”
Naqvi said patients can expect quality service. “This is our sixth location in Ohio,” Naqvi said. “So we know what we are doing.”
Family Urgent Care opened its first clinic in Chillicothe then expanded with offices in Delaware, Heath, Circleville, and Bellefontaine.
The clinic will be able to assist patients with most urgent care problems, such as the common cold, sprains, rashes, small cuts and lacerations, abscesses, blood pressure checks, and glucose testing. Naqvi said they’ve even been outfitted with an EKG machine.
“We can see almost everything,” Naqvi said.
Though the clinic has been opened a little over a week now, the reception has been promising. “I think we’ve had a good response,” Naqvi said. “Two days ago we had 12 patients, which is great. People are finding us somehow and they are coming.”
