MOUNT VERNON -- Knox Community Hospital was recently the recipient of a loving and generous donation from Rebecca Malone and Matthew Lumbatis who provided a Cuddle Cot in loving memory of their daughter, Ava Grace Lumbatis, who was born on Jan. 22, 2019.

The Cuddle Cot helps families who are dealing with bereavement following the death of an infant. The Cuddle Cot offers a unique cooling system which allows the baby to remain with the family for as much time as they would like.

Malone and Lumbatis raised money from friends and family and worked with Madison’s Miracles, a non-profit organization, to provide the Cuddle Cot at KCH.

“We are extremely grateful for this meaningful donation,” said Joanne Yates, Director of the Birthing Center at KCH. “This will enhance the care we are able to provide and will allow the memory of Ava Grace to have a lasting impact on families in our community for years to come.”
