MOUNT VERNON — It’s almost time for Knox County’s ghouls and goblins to hit the streets in search of candy, as the leaves begin to fall and October winds down.
Two communities will hold trick-or-treat on Halloween night this year, while four will hold it earlier. Ariel-Foundation Park will kick things off Sunday, Oct. 24 with a “Halloween Hootenanny,” featuring candy, games and outdoor activity stations sponsored by local businesses and organizations. The event will be free to attend and will take place near “The Lakes,” on the north side of the park. It will last from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Here is this year’s trick-or-treat schedule:
Danville: Thursday, Oct. 28 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Mount Vernon: Saturday, Oct. 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
