Arrests and Charges

Jessica McKean, 26, of Mount Vernon was charged with petty theft from K-mart.

Robert W. Hobbs, 28, of Mount Vernon was charged just before 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday with providing alcohol to an underage person.

 

Accidents

At around 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Maribel G. Roman, 31, of Mount Vernon was pulling her 2005 Chevy Malibu into a parking space in front of an apartment on the 700-block of Follin Avenue.  Andrea K. Stidham, 20, of Mount Vernon, parked at a slight angle in an adjacent spot, backed up her 2005 Hyundai Tiburon and struck Roman’s vehicle in the side.

 

Incidents

At around 12:10 a.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to a business alarm at Parkside Restaurant and Tavern on Mount Vernon Avenue.  They checked the exterior of the building and found everything secure.  A keyholder arrived and the officers checked the interior of the building and found it to be in order as well.  The keyholder secured the building and officers left the scene.

At around 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to a theft from a motor vehicle parked outside a residence on the 900-block of Harcourt Road.  Among the items missing from the vehicle were a Flip-Face car stereo and CD player, multiple CDs (including several by Tim McGraw), and an unknown amount of change.

Just after 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, a victim reported a theft from a vehicle parked outside a residence on the 900-block of Harcourt Road.  Among the items taken were an in-dash radio, a hundred dollars in cash, a hammer-drill in a blue/green Hitachi case, a Black&Decker drill kit in a black-and-yellow Dewalt case, and a red-and-black tool kit with miscellaneous tools.

At about 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, someone turned into the MVPD a Prestige Mastercard found on the 1200-block of Yauger Road.

At about 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, a victim reported that a woman’s blue Schwinn bicycle had been stolen from her residence on the 000-block of Delano Street.

Just before 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, a victim reported a lost/stolen CES Credit Union debit card.

At around 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, an employee of the Duke & Duchess Station on Coshocton Avenue reported that someone drove off without paying for $42.07 worth of gasoline.

At 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, a resident reported an attempted burglary at her home on the 200-block of Howard Street.  A pane of glass containing possible fingerprints was recovered at the scene.

Just before 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, a resident of S. Concord requested an officer to assist with an unruly juvenile.

Traffic Citations

Jacob J. Owens, 21, of Mount Vernon was cited at around 9:30 a.m. on Wedesday for operating a motorcycle without a required helmet.

Tyler A. Williams, 51, of Mount Vernon was cited at around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday for speeding (40 in a 25 mph zone).
