MOUNT VERNON — Four of the five Knox County schools will begin their quest for district championships on their home fields.

Mount Vernon, Fredericktown, Centerburg and East Knox will all host opening-round games.

The Yellow Jackets earned the No. 14 seed in the central district and opted to take a bye in the opening round. Mount Vernon will host either No. 21 Gahanna Lincoln or No. 38 Reynoldsburg at 5 p.m. May 19. Reynoldsburg visits Gahanna Lincoln at 5 p.m. May 17.

In Division III, Fredericktown earned the No. 2 seed and will host either No. 15 Marion Elgin or No. 17 Johnstown Northridge in the sectional final at 5 p.m. May 20. Northridge is at Elgin at 5 p.m. May 18.

Centerburg earned the No. 7 seed and will host No. 9 Columbus Academy in the sectional final at 5 p.m. May 20.

In Division IV, East Knox earned the No. 5 seed and took the first-round bye. The Bulldogs will host either No. 13 Granville Christian Academy or No. 14 Wellington School at 5 p.m. May 19. Wellington School is at Granville Christian at 5 p.m. May 17.

Danville is the lone county school to play a road game in the opening round. The 10th-seeded Blue Devils visit No. 9 Tree of Life at 5 p.m. May 19.
