Incidents:
At 8:05 a.m. on Monday, a Rite-Aid employee reported that, at some point over the weekend, someone had attempted to purchase alcohol with a fake New Jersey license. The employee on duty seized the license and the suspect left the area. The officer collected the fraudulent license as evidence.
At 8:20 a.m. on Monday, an employee of Environmental Management Services reported a criminal mischief incident on the 200-block of Madison Street. A mobile mini-storage unit was vandalized and 20 bags of Enviroblend and three fishing poles were damaged or stolen. A suspect was identified.
At 8:40 a.m. on Monday, a resident of the 000-block of Ridgewood Avenue reported that her husband “wasn’t acting right.”
At 12:20 p.m. on Monday, a victim reported the theft of a chainsaw and a tool box of tools with an estimated value of $400.00 from residence on the 1000-block of W. Chestnut.
Arrests and Charges:
Richard Henderson, 33, of Mount Vernon was charged at 12:05 a.m. on Monday with domestic violence and with endangering children.
Traffic Citations:
Heather Whims, 43, of Howard was cited at 8:50 a.m. on Monday for failing to control her vehicle.
Accidents:
At 8:50 a.m. on Monday, Heather J. Whims, 43, of Howard was traveling eastbound on Coshocton Avenue in her 2010 Buick Lacrosse. Douglas J. Sauers, 57, of Centerburg was also traveling eastbound on Coshocton Avenue in his 2003 Ford Ranger. Whims failed to maintain her lane, crossed into the north lane, and sideswiped Sauers’s vehicle. Whims was cited for the incident.
