Arrests and Charges: Daniel Brady, 28, of Mount Vernon was charged at around 7:30 a.m. last Friday (6/20) with domestic violence.
Bradley Putnam, 55, of Mount Vernon was charged at 4:30 p.m. last Friday with domestic violence.
James Johnson, 24, of Mount Vernon was charged at 2:05 p.m. on Thursday with theft.
Georgeanna Chapman, 51, of Mount Vernon was arrested on 2:30 p.m. on Thursday for criminal trespassing and for criminal damage to crops.
Traffic Citations: Ashley Weiss, 27, of Fredericktown was cited at 11:40 a.m. on Thursday for speeding.
Regina Miller, 46, of Gambier was cited at 12:10 p.m. on Thursday for failing to use a required seatbelt.
Hannah Clasen, 19, of West Liberty was cited at 1:40 p.m. for speeding.
Steven Scott, 20, of Mount Vernon was cited at 2:35 p.m. on Thursday with failing to yield when entering the roadway.
Caleb Peters, 18, of Mount Vernon was cited at 2:40 p.m. on Thursday for speeding (68 in a 55 mph zone).
Casey Lorenzen, 25, of Columbus was cited at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday for speeding (54 in a 35 mph zone).
Accidents: At 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, Jara B. Greegor, 28, of Shreve was parked in a parking space on S. Main Street. A 2006 Chrysler Town & Country minivan driven by Rose M. Slone, 52, of Centerburg was parked immediately behind her. When Greegor attempted to leave, she backed her 2014 Ford Escape into Slone’s vehicle.
At 2:35 p.m. on Thursday, Steven K. Scott, 20, of Mount Vernon pulled out of the Staples parking lot in his 2005 Buick Lacrosse to head west on Coshocton Avenue. Donald R. Belcher, 59, of Mount Vernon was heading east on Coshocton Avenue in his 2007 Ford F-150. Scott failed to yield to Belcher and caused a crash. Scott was cited for the incident.
Incidents: At 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, officers responded to a motion activated near the front door of the Goodwill store on Coshocton Avenue. The exterior of the building was found to be secure but they noted that the ceiling fans were left on and blowing a table cloth around. No keyholder could be reached but messages were left with them regarding the incident.
At 10:20 a.m. on Thursday, a resident reported finding a red bicycle and turned it over to the MVPD.
At 2:05 p.m. on Thursday, a suspect was issued a summons for shoplifting from the Wal-Mart. He is alleged to have attempted to steal six Autolite platinum spark-plugs valued at $89.46.
At 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, 196 lottery tickets were reported stolen from Cheap Tobacco on W. High Street. A suspect was identified.
