Carl A. Wells, 31, of Mount Vernon was charged at 10:10 p.m. on Wednesday with petty theft from the Wal-Mart.
Joseph B. Schreiber, 33, of Utica was picked up just after 10:30 a.m. on Friday for an outstanding warrant. A little over an hour later, another was filed against him.
Erica R. Davis, 22, of Mount Vernon was charged at around 2:10 a.m. on Saturday with assault at a South High Street business.
Michael D. Fields, 21, of Mount Vernon was charged at 2:10 a.m. on Saturday, with persistent disorderly conduct at A South High Street business.
Aaron Hairston, 22, of Mount Vernon was charged at 2:10 a.m. on Saturday, with disorderly conduct at Banana Joe’s.
Donald P. Bailey, 23, of Mount Vernon was charged at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday with domestic violence at a residence on Mitchell Avenue. He was charged also with resisting arrest.
Traffic Violations:
Taylor D. Kesman, 19, of Mount Vernon was cited just before 6:00 p.m. on Saturday for failing to control his vehicle and for leaving the scene of an accident on private property.
Tasha Araujo, 32, of Mount Vernon was cited at 9:45 a.m. on Friday for driving under a suspended license and for making an illegal U-turn.
Accidents:
Just after 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Donna M. Kurtz, 86, of Howard was traveling eastbound on Coshocton Avenue, approaching the westernmost Wal-Mart entrance in his 2005 Ford Taurus. Kimmarie A. Murphy, 46, of Mount Vernon was approaching from the other direction in her 2006 Toyota Land Cruiser. Murphy changed from the right lane to the center lane prior to the intersection. Kurtz, who was turning left into Wal-Mart, failed to yield to the oncoming Land Cruiser and was struck as a result.
At around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Beverly Actis, 71, of Mount Vernon was leaving the parking lot at Bob Evans in her 2009 Honda Accord. Angela F. Harris, 38, of Howard was pulling her 2010 Nissan Rogue from a parking space and struck Actis’s vehicle.
At around 11:50 p.m. on Saturday, Cherie L. Wright, 51, of Sioux Falls, SD was heading southbound on S. Mulberry Street approaching the Vine Street intersection in a rented 2012 Chrysler. Daniel J. McDade, 67, of Mount Vernon was heading eastbound on W. Vine Street approaching the Mulberry Street intersection in his 2006 Chevy Cobalt. Both drivers claimed to have the green light. The officer who arrived at the scene could find no corroborating witnesses and Wright’s passenger stated that she had not seen what color the light had been. Both vehicles had been moved prior to the officer’s arrival.
Incidents:
Just after 7:00 a.m. on Friday, a resident of the 400-block of E. Vine reported that his white wooden fence had been vandalized. Damages were estimated at $500.00. A suspect was identified.
At around 9:50 a.m. on Friday, a representative of the Pleasant Street School contacted the MVPD regarding a parent driving under a suspended license. A suspect was identified.
Just before 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a report of a theft from a residence on the 500-block of N. Mulberry Street. Among the items taken were two resin wicker chairs, a resin wicker stand with a glass top, eight perennial plants in pots, two garden hoses, and several other items. Their total value was estimated at $32,400.00 and a suspect was identified.
Just before 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, a resident of the 200-block of Shirley Avenue reported that a prescription for 90 Adderall pills had been taken from her home. A suspect was identified.
Just before 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, a resident of the 600-block of W. Gambier Street reported that her door jamb had been damaged.
At around 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, a resident of the 700-block of Follin Avenue reported a disturbance at her home.
Just before 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to an alarm at the Knox County Chiropractic Clinic on Coshocton Avenue. Further details were not available.
Just before 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, a Wal-Mart employee reported the theft of two necklaces valued at approximately $25.00 each.
At around 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, a suspect was accused of shoplifting a bottle of Reposado tequila from the Rite-Aid on Newark Road. It was valued at $33.80.
At 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, a resident reported that she had lost a wallet on the Public Square. Anyone finding it should bring it to the police station.
Just after 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, a resident of S. Jackson Street reported that her cell phone had been stolen from her home. A suspect was identified.
At around 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, a victim reported that he had been assaulted at a residence on the 300-block of Mitchell Avenue. A suspect was identified.
