Bobblehead dolls are always agreeable. They nod “yes” to anything you do or say. President Trump has a large collection of these figures in the Senate. Among them is Jon Husted.

Senator Husted supports the president even when he is hurting Ohioans. Jon Husted voted to cut $1 trillion from Medicaid, stripping as many as 356,000 Ohioans of their health insurance and threatening the closure of 10 hospitals in the state (https://www.healthpolicyohio.org/health-policy-news/2026/04/03/study-federal-work-requirements-could-cut-ohio-medicaid-expansion-enrollment-in-half; https://share.google/T4qcknRMAib1H499J).

Jon Husted supports the President’s tariffs that have cost each U.S. household $1,820 so far (https://taxfoundation.org/research/federal-tax/trump-tariffs-trade-war/). The Iran War, for which he voted 13 times, also burdens household budgets by increasing oil and gas prices (https://share.google/by9yKd06S38QAbkQr).

Jon Husted, along with President Trump, strongly advocates for the expansion of data centers. These resource-hungry facilities raise the prices we pay for basic utilities like electricity and water. The AI industry they support also threatens American jobs (https://share.google/by9yKd06S38QAbkQr).

Senator Husted would rather rubber-stamp President Trump’s actions than help working people.

Sherrod Brown, in contrast, has long been a supporter of working people (https://aflcio.org/scorecard/legislators/sherrod-brown).

As a Senator, he worked with Republicans and Democrats to pass the CARES Act that provided essential support to families, small businesses, and farmers during COVID. He co-sponsored the PRO Act that, had it passed, would have extended workers’ rights to form unions. Brown also co-sponsored the Public Service Freedom to Negotiate Act (https://freedomtonegotiate.org/) that ensured all public workers have the right to organize and bargain collectively.

He worked tirelessly to protect workers’ pensions, fought against outsourcing through his Build America, Buy America Act, and sought to end tax breaks for companies that send jobs overseas. He walked picket lines and was not afraid to oppose bad trade deals, like the Trans-Pacific Partnership and NAFTA, even when they were proposed by Democratic presidents.

Jon Husted said nothing when President Trump fired thousands of Federal workers or tried to dismantle their civil service protections in 2025. He was more concerned with not angering the President than he was for the welfare of working families.

Workers make America. Championing their rights should be a bipartisan imperative. Sherrod Brown lives that commitment regardless of who occupies the White House. We need, more than ever, a Senator who is not a bobblehead but a fighter for the common good.
