MOUNT VERNON — Founders Food Hall is welcoming Urban Gourmet as its newest kitchen operator, bringing the Columbus-based restaurant’s proven menu of burgers, pasta bowls, sandwiches, and more to downtown Mount Vernon.
Urban Gourmet will open its second location at Founders Food Hall, following the success of its original location at East Market Food Hall in Columbus.
In October 2024, Urban Gourmet was ranked the highest-rated burger in the Columbus area in a list published by NBC4 based on Yelp ratings.
“We’re incredibly excited to bring Urban Gourmet to Founders Food Hall,” said co-owner Hicham Ouhammou. “We’ve built our reputation around our burgers and the quality of all of our food, and we can’t wait to bring the Urban Gourmet experience to Mount Vernon.
“We’re looking forward to becoming part of the community and creating a place where people can come together, enjoy great food, and have a great experience.”
Sam Filkins, President of the Knox County Land Bank, which owns Founders Food Hall, said: “We are excited to welcome Urban Gourmet to Founders Food Hall and add them to the great mix of food and beverage options we already have.
“They have a proven concept and we think they will be a great addition to the food hall. We are looking forward to seeing them become part of the Mount Vernon community.”
Urban Gourmet is planning to open in October, becoming the sixth kitchen at Founders Food Hall.
The addition is part of the continued growth of Founders, which is also expanding its entertainment offerings with music bingo, paint-and-sip-style events, duckpin bowling, live music, and more planned in the months ahead.
Founders Food Hall is located at 18 E. Vine Street in downtown Mount Vernon and is open Tuesday through Sunday, currently featuring five kitchens and a bar.
