MOUNT VERNON — Knox County Foundation will host an in-depth nonprofit fundraising workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 27, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Ramser 4-H Center, 700 Perimeter Drive, Mount Vernon.
Lunch will be provided.
Presented through the Knox Network of Nonprofits (KNN), the training will feature Lori Overmyer, executive vice president at Goettler Associates. Overmyer will return to Knox County to lead an expanded session focused on practical strategies nonprofits can use to strengthen their fundraising efforts.
The training will address a wide range of fundraising topics, including the role board members can and should play in fundraising, planning and running a capital campaign, keeping current donors engaged, reconnecting with previous donors, recruiting new donors, starting conversations with prospective donors, and planning effective year-end fundraising campaigns.
“We know fundraising is an ongoing challenge for many nonprofit organizations, and this training is an opportunity to spend meaningful time digging into both the fundamentals and some of the more complex questions that come with it,” said Lisa Lloyd, senior program director at Knox County Foundation.
“Lori brings a wealth of experience and practical knowledge, and we hope participants leave with ideas and strategies they can put to work right away.”
Overmyer has more than 30 years of professional fundraising experience, with expertise in annual and capital fundraising plans, strategic analysis, major donor solicitation, and establishing development procedures to strengthen operations and communications.
She is also experienced in marketing research, proposal writing, donor cultivation, recognition strategies, and engaging board members in the fundraising process.
The October training is designed for nonprofit staff, board members and others involved in fundraising or donor development.
