Carolyn M. (Blakely) Hallam, age 90, of Howard, OH, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Friday, July 31, 2026.
She was born October 7, 1935, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, to the late Cecil LeRoy and Mary Irene (O’Brien) Blakely.
Carolyn is survived by three sons, Kenneth (Trish) Hallam II of Delaware, Kirk Hallam of Howard, and Kraig (Carrie) Hallam of Westerville; her daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Hallam of Plain City; nine grandchildren, Samuel, Aubrey, Marcus, Kristopher, Morgan, Mary-Makenzie, Keagan, Kendall, and Sydney; and one great-grandson, Benji. She is also survived by numerous beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; her parents; her son, Kevin; her brothers, Virgil and Roger Blakely; her sisters, Marilyn Peterson and Judith Snyder; and her grandson, Christian Hallam.
Carolyn dedicated her life to her family. Most people, her family included, considered Carolyn a saint for her patience, grace, and humor while raising four wild boys in the country while somehow managing to keep her sanity. She treated everyone she met with unconditional love, respect, and forgiveness—values she deeply instilled in her children. She will be dearly missed by all who know her.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville, with Rev. Father James Farnan as celebrant. The Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel is handling the arrangements for the family.
In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve in recognition of the exceptional, compassionate care and support they provided to Carolyn at her home.
