MOUNT VERNON — There were 10 people sentenced in Knox County Common Pleas Court in June.

According to court documents, Judge Richard Wetzel ordered the following sentences:

June 4

  • Mandline L. Bryant, Mount Vernon, pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony.

Bryant was sentenced to serve a two-year term of community control. He is to submit to an outpatient drug and alcohol assessment, comply with any treatment plan and submit to a term of drug and alcohol use monitoring. He must also pay restitution in the amount of $55 to Patricia Green Cellars, $2,099.96 to Kelley Fox Wineries and $2,032.40 to Lewis Cellars.

  • Marcus D. Hess, Mount Vernon, pleaded guilty to obstructing official business (fifth-degree felony) and to the lesser charge of strangulation (fourth-degree felony). A first-degree misdemeanor charge of assault and a first-degree misdemeanor charge of domestic violence were dismissed.

Hess was sentenced to two years of community control and three days in the Knox County Jail with credit for three days served. He is to submit to an outpatient drug and alcohol assessment, comply with any treatment plan, submit to a term of drug and alcohol use monitoring and comply with any recommended treatment plan. He must also obtain and maintain full-time employment and submit to a mental health assessment. He is to have no contact with the victim without further order of any court.

  • Makayla R. Williamson, Mount Vernon, pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of trespass in a habitation when a person is present or likely to be present (fourth-degree felony) and to violating a protection order (first-degree misdemeanor).

Williamson was sentenced to two years of community control and 395 days in the Knox County Jail with credit for 395 days served. She is to be released into the custody of a representative of Behavioral Healthcare Partners. She must also submit to an outpatient drug and alcohol use monitoring, enter into and successfully complete the residential treatment program with Anew Behavioral Health and remain in compliance with BHP treatment plan.

  • Daniel B. Morehouse, Mount Vernon, pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of attempted having weapons while under disability (fourth-degree felony) and forfeiture specification as to count one (a felony).

Morehouse was sentenced to two years of community control. He must also forfeit one Winchester Model 370 20-gauge shotgun to the Mount Vernon Police Department.

June 11

  • Stephen P. Dial, Mount Vernon, pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of trespass in a habitation when a person is present or likely to be present (fourth-degree felony), theft (fifth-degree felony) and theft from a person in a protected class (fifth-degree felony).

Dial was sentenced to two years of community control and 242 days in the Knox County Jail with credit for 242 days served. He must also submit to an outpatient drug and alcohol assessment, comply with any treatment plan, submit to a term of drug and alcohol use monitoring and comply with any recommended treatment plan. He must also submit to a mental health assessment and obtain and maintain full-time employment.

  • Ricky P. Truesdale Jr. pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

Truesdale Jr. was sentenced to serve one year of community control. He must also submit to an outpatient drug and alcohol assessment, comply with any treatment plans, submit to a term of drug and alcohol use monitoring and obtain and maintain full-time employment.

June 18

  • Billy R. McCall, Newark, pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of possession of drugs (third-degree felony) and forfeiture specification as to count one (a felony). A third-degree felony charge of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a felony charge of forfeiture specification as to count two, a fifth-degree felony charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a felony charge of forfeiture specification as to count three and a first-degree misdemeanor charge of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol were dismissed.

McCall was sentenced to serve a definite term of imprisonment of 24 months on amended count one with 56 days of credit toward his sentence along with future days with awaiting transportation to the appropriate institution. He must also forfeit $11,119 to the Mount Vernon Police Department, and the court is assessing a mandatory fine in the amount of $5,000 due to indigency. McCall’s bond is canceled.

June 25

  • Tyron W. Rine II, Frazeysburg, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

Rine was sentenced to a two-year term of community control and 180 days in the Knox County Jail with credit for 75 days served. These sentences are to be suspended if he enters into and successfully completes the STAR community based correctional facility treatment program, submit to an outpatient drug and alcohol assessment and comply with a recommended treatment plan. He must also submit to a term of drug and alcohol use monitoring and obtain and maintain full-time employment.

  • Ashley M. Doyle, Mount Vernon, pleaded guilty to possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony.

Doyle was sentenced to a one-year term of monitored time and 180 days in the Knox County Jail with credit for 55 days served. She must also have no jailable offenses for one year.

  • Ryan J. McKenzie, Mount Vernon, pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol (first-degree misdemeanor), resisting arrest (second-degree misdemeanor) and retaliation (third-degree felony).

McKenzie was sentenced to a definite term of imprisonment of 10 days on count one, 10 days on count two and 24 months on count three, to be served concurrently, with credit for 140 days along with future days while awaiting transportation.

The court is assessing a mandatory fine of $565 in relation to count one.
