Alice I. Burson, age 73, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Knox Community Hospital.
She was born on June 5, 1952, in Mount Vernon and was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Ada (Newton) Clawson.
Her family and loved ones were her biggest joy in life. She was a dedicated baker for 35+ years, she had the biggest heart and loved everyone unconditionally. She loved being outside enjoying her gardening and bird watching. She touched the hearts of every person she ever met and will be deeply missed by all.
Alice is survived by her three daughters, Ketha Hughes, Anissa (Brian Antill) Treen, Danielle (Jeremy Muralt) Burson; her fiancé, Doug Leonard and their two fur babies, Ziva and Jade; four grandchildren, Michael Burson, Brittany (Ryan Rager) Hughes, Jordan Hughes, Arley Darling; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin Smith and Finn Rager; brother, John (Jayne) Clawson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Mike Burson.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Snyder Funeral Home – Dowds Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at the funeral home starting at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Amity Cemetery.
