Sandra Sue Levengood, a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on
February 7, 2026, at her nephew’s home in Tiffin, Ohio.
Born in Richland County, Ohio, on December 20, 1945. Sue worked at Zolman’s Restaurant
throughout high school. Attended Beauty School in Columbus Ohio earning her
cosmetology license. She then worked at Beauty Clinic in Mansfield, Ohio, and owned her
own salon in Mt Vernon, Ohio. She then changed careers and oversaw the Breast Screening
Program for Richland Public Health Clinic for many years, eventually retiring. On March 31, 1979, Sue married her loving husband George Levengood, celebrating 45 wonderful years together.
She is survived by her brother Ed (Beth) Snavely of Fredericktown OH; sister Sally (Tom)
Simpkins of Hiwassee, VA: brother-in-law John (Joyce) Levengood of Vail, AZ. Nephews
Joshua (Rachel) Simpkins, Jonathan (Heather) Simpkins, Jeff (Lisa) Levengood, Joe (Lisa)
Levengood, Jim (Jayne) Levengood and Jerry (Marylynn) Levengood. 10 Great nieces and
nephews and 4 Great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving
husband George Levengood, parents Glen and Betty Ruth Snavely, and nephew Brandon
Snavely.
Sue was a member of a local card club for many years, and a partner to George on their
family dairy farm. Sue leaves behind their beloved dog Petey who was always at their
side.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown beginning at 11am.
