Linda Elaine Stevens, formerly of Ohio and recently from Amelia Island, Florida, died from an accident March 12, 2026 on Amelia Island, Florida. She was attended in death by her cousins Steven Minor (Fredericktown) and Laura Minor Hatfield (Amelia Island), as well as kind first responders, nurses, and trauma surgeons who tried to save and comfort her.
Linda was born February 5, 1959, in Chillicothe Ohio to Arvil Stevens and Eudene (Deenie) Hancock Stevens. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brother Mark and her son Shane. Her children Dana Law and Mitch Crane survive her, as does her older brother Mitch Stevens. Linda adored her two cats, Sammi and Callie, who were her constant companions. She was a beloved niece of Leticia Stevens Minor of Fredericktown (also deceased).
Linda always had a soft spot for those in need. The Red Cross honored Linda for donating a large amount of blood over the years, and Linda was also honored for saving the life of an injured drowning man. As her last gift to others, she donated her body for research, and her viable organs for transplant. Today two formerly blind people have vision, each having received an eye from Linda through the Lions Club vision program. Linda encouraged all to learn about donor programs, including at The Wexner (Ohio State University) where Linda’s regular doctors were. One life can save up to eight other lives and give vision as well.
