MOUNT VERNON — A Knox County Grand Jury indicted a Fredericktown man on March 23 for two counts of aggravated possession of drugs.

Douglas J. Boyd, 30, was indicted for allegedly obtaining, possessing, or using 14.65 grams of methamphetamine, a schedule II controlled substance. The amount makes it a third-degree felony.

Count 2 alleges Boyd obtained, possessed, or used 18.21 grams of methamphetamine, a second-degree felony.

The grand jury also indicted Boyd for having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony. The count included a forfeiture specification of a Remington rifle.

The grand jury indicted eight other individuals on March 23.

Stacy L. Mackie, Mount Vernon, one count of operating a vehicle under the influence, a first-degree misdemeanor; tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony; and aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

Gavin S. Swoape, Mount Vernon, one count of burglary, second-degree felony; and criminal mischief, a third-degree misdemeanor.

Zachary A. King, Mount Vernon, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a fourth-degree felony, having been convicted of or pleaded guilty to three counts of OVI within the past 10 years.

Jeremy A. Decker, Centerburg, possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony.

Barbara J. Kidd, Mount Vernon, aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

Shawn D. Smith, Fredericktown, failure to register internet identifiers, a fourth-degree felony, having been previously convicted of a sexually oriented offense.

Melvin R. Fiske, Columbus, grand theft of a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony.

Cory L. Hartshorn Sr., Mount Vernon, domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony, having been previously convicted of domestic violence in 2006.
