GAMBIER — Perfect temperatures greeted the 104 runners who toed the line at the Kokosing River Run 5K & 10K held at the Brown Family Environmental Center on Saturday, Oct. 20. Granville resident Jack Reaney won the 5K in a time of 20:35, followed by Geir Falck-Pederson, Chicago, IL, in 22:54. Seventeen-year-old Hans Schwarz, Cincinnati, ran a 23:45 for third place.

In the 10K, George Aponte Clark, Portland, ME, turned in a 43:13. Second place went to Sean Mazer, Alburquerque, NM, 46:23. Fredericktown resident Nicholas Snell took home third with a time of 47:11.

On the women’s side, Abby Kauff, Seattle, WA, won the 5K in 24:55, followed by Ellen Daugherty, Atlanta, GA, 28:14, and Quinn Hardy of Mount Vernon, 28:22. Twelve-year-old Sadie Landry, Granville, turned in a 57:10 to win the 10K. Danaye Nixon, Gambier, took second with her 59:10. Third place went to Barbara McEldowney of Alamo, CA, 1:01:28.
