MOUNT VERNON — The Yellow Jackets hope to stay hot.
Mount Vernon (11-10) earned the No. 9 seed in Sunday’s Division II central district tournament draw and will open the postseason at No. 7 Westerville South (8-13).
The district semifinal is scheduled for 7 p.m. March 2.
The Yellow Jackets are 5-2 in their last seven games dating to mid-January. Meanwhile, the Wildcats lost their final three regular season games and four of their final five.
On the other side of the bracket, fifth-seeded Big Walnut will host No. 15 Worthington Kilbourne in the sectional final. The winner will play No. 12 Canal Winchester in the district semifinal.
