MOUNT VERNON Knox Community Hospital has announced that its Cardiology Department has received Chest Pain Center Accreditation from the American College of Cardiology  (ACC), recognizing the hospital’s commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals experiencing chest pain.

They have been a Chest Pain Center since 2018 and have been re-accredited for this.

This accreditation signifies that KCH meets national standards for the rapid evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with chest pain and related cardiovascular conditions.

This reflects the hospital’s dedication to improving outcomes through evidence-based practices and coordinated care.

“Achieving ACC Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primary PCI is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our cardiology team and our facility as a whole,” says Megan Keen, Chest Pain Navigator.

“Our physicians, nurses, and support staff work tirelessly to ensure every patient receives timely, compassionate, evidence-based, and high-quality care when it truly matters most.”

To earn this accreditation, the Cardiology team underwent a comprehensive review process, evaluating clinical protocols, staff education, patient education, and quality improvement initiatives. The hospital demonstrated such excellence in these areas.
