Debra Stover, age 65, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
She was born on October 16, 1960, the daughter of Emory and Clair (Beavers) Vance. Debra was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose life centered around her family. Family was everything to Debra, and she poured her heart into caring for and supporting those she loved.

In her quieter moments, Debra enjoyed reading and was an avid fan of romance novels, especially those written by her favorite author, Nora Roberts. She found comfort and joy in books, but her greatest happiness always came from time spent with her family.

Debra will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Steven Stover, her children, Brian Baker of Mount Vernon, Chelsea Stover of Mount Vernon and Dylan (Joni) Stover of Mount Vernon, grandchildren, Aroya Burkett, Cameron Baker, Keira Miller, Aaron Miller, Alayla Roberts, and Timothy Roberts, great grandchildren, Onyx Strahl, and Haizleigh Burney, three sisters, Brenda Hanson of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, Sharon (Dave) Williams of Mount Vernon, and Vicky (Harold) Davis of Mount Vernon.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Doyle Vance.

There will be no services. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Debra Stover.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
